New methods are recently arising in order to measure urban livability and happiness to identify factors capable to influence their perception in public spaces. One of this is the Eco- livable design method which aims at identifying urban livability and happiness and the factors which make places livable from the users point of view and suitable project interventions to create or design urban livability and happiness. The method consists of different kind of surveys, observations and questionnaires. In order to collect elements by users point of views, overlap these data with others coming from internet database and visualize the results in “friendly” multimedia maps, the method is supported by a software for smart phone or multimedia tablet. The final product will be constituted by interactive mosaics capable to visualize places and factors which contribute to urban livability and happiness. Aim of this paper is to illustrate the Eco-livable design method and software and an emblematic case study concerning the HafenCity (Hamburg) paths through its public spaces. Observation on both the new method and case study will conclude the paper.
